UN Sustainability Project

A project commissioned by the University of Sunderland, a collaborative piece, where four students were to focus on creating art for the 17 UN Sustainability Goals. The goals I was given are shown below.

I first started on creating a few thumbnail sketches for each of the goals, sending them to the clients and recieving feedback on which designs work best. Below are the finished sketched out designs that I sent to the client, who seemed to really like them, except for the design with the two people, which I later changed to a design showing a safe and free area for unhoused people to camp, get food and use utilities - illustrating No Poverty in a better way.

After finishing the line art for those four goals, I recieve an email letting me know that one of the other illustrators will not be able to finish two of their goals, and asked me if I could take it on. I agreed to it, and using their thumbnails, I created clean lineart of their concepts. These two were Responsible Consumption and Production, and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Below are the finished designs! I used somewhat similar colour schemes for the designs, creating a uniform palette that looks good on the eyes.
